Annual OSH Awards and Conference

The State Department of Labour and skills Development carries out health and safety services through the Directorate of Occupational Safety & Health Services (DOSHS). The Department has its Headquarters in Industrial Area, safety house and has regional offices in twenty nine (29) counties. These services are carried out to ensure that every workplace is free of any hazards, and complies to laid down standards to assure safety of employees. Some of these services include but are not limited to Registration of workplaces, Registration of plant, Registration of Approved persons and institutions, workplace inspection & audits, Examination & testing of plants, Accident investigation & WIBA processing. The Awards recognize commitment of workplaces and individuals to good safety and health management. The participating workplaces will be required to answer some key preliminary questions from a questionnaire, about the safety and health management at the particular workplace. Only those Workplaces that will attain marks above a score determined by the adjudicators will be shortlisted. These workplaces will thereafter be subjected to a physical inspection using a structured checklist that will be used to determine the winners of the award. The winners will be the workplaces or individuals who score the highest marks.

Eligibility; Each application covers one workplace. If you wish to enter several workplaces, you must complete a separate application and questionnaire for each of the workplace.

  1. 2. Click on Item/Service Purchases 
  1. 3. On the Right Top of your page Click  Add Item/ Services purchases Button
  1. 4. On the Item/service Drop down select the award you want to participate in (Add more for extra participant) and Save
  1. 5. Click make payment and complete the payment process and download the payment receipt
  1. 6. Download and fill the forms by clicking this link  : OSH Award forms (2025)
  1. 7.  Send the filled forms and the downloaded payment receipt to osh.challenge@labour.go.ke

Conditions;  The DOSHS reserves the right to withhold, suspend or withdraw a National OSH Award if it is confirmed at any stage that the applicant either had not met the eligibility criteria or failed to fully disclose all material facts which brings their eligibility into question. The DOSHS may publish information concerning the winners to promote the awards and to help disseminate best practice.
